Epson Red Sea 2010 – World of Underwater Images
This is the sixth year in a row that the Epson Red Sea competition takes place in Eilat. Integrating elements from the photography, high-tech, touristic and diving industries, the Epson Red Sea competition is branded as a worldwide leading underwater photography competition.
Due to its international reputation, Epson Red Sea was invited to exhibit at the Koc Marine Museum in Istanbul on December 2009 and a few months later, at the Photokina Fair, the world largest photography event, taking place every two years in Cologne, Germany.
The Epson Red Sea event has been covered so far by many international media channels, such as CNN, Fashion TV, Reuters and BBC, as well as countless photo and diving magazines.

The man behind the scenes and the spirit of the Epson Red Sea event is David Pilosof, an experienced underwater photographer was also the first photographer in the world to introduce the concept of underwater nudity and fashion images, which can be found on one of the most successful photography books ever published, Samantha.
“I remember that whenever participating in photo competitions”, says Pilosof, “it was nice winning medals, trophies and certificates, but I always felt like something is missing: cash prizes, prizes that can actually assist with funding my next underwater photo journey”.
And so, following Pilosof’s ambition, the purpose of Epson Red Sea is to award talented underwater photographers with valuable prizes. By now, Epson Red Sea has already awarded photographers with prizes worth more than $400,000 and on the upcoming competition, prizes will reach more than $80,000, including the big prize which consists of a $10,000 check, courtesy of Epson, and a 3 weeks diving vacation for two in Papua New Guinea, courtesy of the Papua New Guinea Tourism Authority. Other winners will be granted with additional impressive cash prizes, luxurious diving trips, expensive diving and photo equipment and much more.
It only gets better and better…
Good luck to you all!
